Ty Thompson & Jonah Miller Share Their Perspectives on Racism in America

Mesquite quarterback Ty Thompson and Sahuaro offensive lineman Jonah Miller are two of the four elite Arizona prospects that are committed to the Oregon Ducks, joining Saguaro offensive lineman Bram Walden and Chandler outside linebacker Brandon Buckner.

Thompson and Miller joined this week’s Venezia’s Pizzeria Recruiting Roundup to discuss the Ducks and how they hope to grow while in Eugene.

But they also dived into race and social issues with Jordan Hamm as well.

After the death of George Floyd, social reform has been on the front of everyone’s minds around the globe, and these two leaders shared what the past couple weeks have been like for them, the discussions they’ve had with their families and teammates, and who they’ve looked to for guidance during a difficult time.

Both players praised the steps Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal has taken over the recent weeks to speak out and take action during a Black Lives Matter protest in Eugene last week. They also shared what positive changes could come for society in the future.
