Mountain Pointe shortstop Carson Tucker has been one of the most highly-touted prospects in this year’s MLB draft class.

He didn’t have to wait long to hear his name called in the first round after the Cleveland Indians selected him with the No. 23 overall pick. His older brother Cole, who is currently a shortstop with the Pittsburgh Pirates, was selected with the No. 24 pick in the 2014 MLB draft.

Think little brother will hang that over big bro’s head?

The Texas commit hit .390 with 78 runs, nine triples, five home runs, 20 doubles and 68 RBI in his 3+ year career with the Pride.

Sande Charles caught up with Tucker heading into this year’s draft to discuss the process and the unique circumstances that come with a limited draft.

Jordan Hamm caught up with Cole Tucker at Dingers in the Desert last January, and big brother shared his excitement for Carson as he was navigating the draft process. You can hear that interview on the Diamonds in the Desert podcast.
