Former Apollo Guard Holland Woods Transfers to ASU

A former Apollo Hawk is headed home.

On Saturday, Portland State junior guard Holland Woods announced on Twitter he is transferring to Arizona State. He was also considering Gonzaga, New Mexico and Oregon State.

According to Jeff Gershon of 247Sports, “Woods is not currently projected to play next season without a waiver.”

As a junior, Woods averaged 17.7 points and 5.2 assists per game.

At Apollo, Woods averaged 27 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game as a senior, helping a strong senior class lead the Hawks to the state title game. He left Apollo as a three year-starter.
