Hill Ready To Get ASU Offense Moving

Like the other new assistants on Herm Edwards’ staff, offensive coordinator Zak Hill has hit the ground running since arriving at Arizona State back in mid-December.

Now he’s ready get to work as the Sun Devils near the beginning of spring practice, while he adjusts to life in the desert after serving in the same capacity the past four years at Boise State.

“Transitions are never easy,” Hill said in a recent Skype interview with Sports360AZ.com’s Brad Cesmat. “But [we’re] into the house. My family is down here now and my two kids. So it’s going well. Getting ready for spring ball.”

One of the main reasons why the Arizona State job appealed to Hill, was the opportunity to work with super soon-to-be sophomore quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Now the two are getting familiar with one another as Daniels dives into Hill’s offensive sets and formations.

“From a knowledge standpoint of learning the new terminology, what we’re doing with our offense,” Hill described as some of the work he’s been doing with Daniels. “Watching cut-ups. Getting ready for our installs…we’ll get to some quarterback fundamental things but we can’t work with them on the field, at least with the ball.”

That will all change when the Devils open spring workouts on Monday, February 24th and will include 15 total practices, culminating with the Spring Game on Saturday, March 28th at 7:00PM at Sun Devil Stadium.
