Murphy played essentially a season and a half with Washington, but made his presence felt. This year, he had 58 tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 4 interceptions. As a redshirt freshman, he played in six games and had two interceptions. He missed seven games due to injury.
CBS Sports currently has Murphy ranked as the #20 prospect in this draft and the #3 corner back in the class.
In two years with Saguaro, Murphy accumulated 44 touchdowns, 13 interceptions and 105 tackles. He was the top recruit in Arizona for the 2016 class which also featured N’Keal Harry and Chase Lucas.
Murphy will join Harry in this year’s draft field and follow in the footsteps of his high school teammate Christian Kirk, who was selected in the second round last year by the Arizona Cardinals.
