Pinnacle tops Mountain Pointe despite losing two key starters to injury

The Pinnacle Pioneers came into Friday’s game with the number one quarterback in the nation under center in senior Spencer Rattler.

When Rattler went down with an ankle injury in the first quarter however, it was junior quarterback JD Johnson who stepped up when the team needed him most to come away with a 54-36 victory over Mountain Pointe in week one.

INJURY NEWS: Rattler’s ankle injury is not anything too serious, Pinnacle head coach Dana Zupke said postgame. As for running back Matt Goodlow, who exited the game with an apparent knee injury in the second quarter, Zupke said it is too soon to tell.
