Interesting to see what cities will do to get an Major League Soccer franchise. Take what’s going on in Cincinnati as a prime example. FC Cincinnati is in its third year of USL Play and are averaging over 23-thousand fans per game. The County is reportedly giving the franchise land and cash to build their parking structure, while the City is given them land and cash to help construct a new downtown stadium. Next week the MLS will have “A significant announcement about the future of soccer in Cincinnati”. I am hoping for the MLS to give an update on all possible expansion franchises during Tuesdays announcement of adding FC Cincy to their league…
The maroon and gold faithful are restless when it comes to the future of Arizona State baseball coach Tracy Smith. I don’t see change happening. Three years left on a contract is a big bite for Ray Anderson to chew off. While Willie Bloomquist and Andre Either are good names to remember, the focus needs to be on Smith getting things turned around rather than change.. Eating contracts is never good for the bottom line…
Bobby Hurley continues to build schedules that make the national media take notice of the job he’s doing at Arizona State.
Bobby Hurley again taking no prisoners with non-conference scheduling. Next season, ASU will play road games at Vandy & Georgia, host Kansas, play Nevada in LA, & play in a tournament in Vegas with Mississippi State.

All that is missing is a game with GCU and I’d be content. I guess I will be unfulfilled for a while longer, if ever…
I’m willing to give the hometown 9 about another week and change before bringing out the sledgehammer. Yes, things are bad(understatement), but the Diamondbacks have played some of the very best competition in the Major Leagues over the last three weeks during this crash-and-burn. If they can’t get healthy on the A’s, Reds, and Marlins in the next ten days, then I’m guessing a call will be coming from the Rocky Mountains…
