North Canyon OL/DL and elite prospect Austin Jackson had himself a day on Friday night against Barry Goldwater. The 6-foot-6 270-pound junior, who has over a dozen offers from big-time programs like Auburn, Oregon, Texas A&M, USC, Arizona and Arizona State among others, helped set the tone in the run game that led to four rushing touchdowns for Nimi Okwoli. He also was constantly in the backfield as a defensive tackle making plays against the Bulldogs. He came through in the special teams department when a shanked punt found itself in his hands.
Then something amazing happened: The deceptively fleet of foot Jackson broke for big-man touchdown glory. He gave a spin and a dive and found the end zone.
That touchdown helped the Rattlers snap a 20-game losing streak, beating Goldwater 41-21.
