Sun Devil Surprise. Randall to Packers, Strong waits…

Jaelen Strong waits, Damarious Randall is heading to Green Bay.
After day one of the NFL Draft, the surprise for Sun Devil fans might be that Jaelen Strong is still on the board. More on that to come.

Green Bay must really like what Todd Graham and the defensive staff are doing in Tempe, because for the second year in a row a Sun Devil is going to a Packer. Last year it was linebacker Carl Bradford, this year it’s Randall.
The Packers spent the 30th pick in the first round on the Arizona State defensive back.
Judging by the buzz on social media, the pick came as a surprise to Packer fans. Last year Green Bay spent a first round pick on safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.
From all of the NFL Draft experts I had on the show the last month, they expect Randall to play cornerback in the NFL. He was a corner in junior college.

In terms of Jaelen Strong, there had been questions about a wrist injury coming into the draft. Last week NFL Network Analyst Charles Davis told me on the show that there were teams that were wondering about the injury. Sun Devil head coach Todd Graham tweeted out a picture of the football at Strongs draft table in Chicago.CD3_r3uUIAAvraQ

Six wide receivers were selected in Thursday nights first round. It’s would seem highly unlikely that Strong would go through round 2 on Friday without being drafted.
