ASU/UofA both making last minute push for Basha QB Werlinger

With less than two weeks until National Letter of Intent day an interesting development is taking place on the in-state quarterback front.

Both Arizona State and Univ. of Arizona are pursuing Basha High School quarterback Zach Werlinger. I’ve said and written over the last two years that Werlinger was the most underrated QB in the state. “We’re excited to have interest from both schools. I like both staffs,” Werlinger told me early Saturday afternooon.
This past season, the 6″2 184 senior, threw for 3242 yards and 25 tds.

Arizona assistant Charlie Ragle and ASU offensive coordinator Mike Norvell were both on the Basha campus this week to check in on Werlinger, who is a National Scholar Athlete, with a 4.5 GPA with plans to major in pre-law.
Wildcats head coach Rich Rodgriguez is scheduled to come to the school to meet with Werlinger this coming week.
Werlinger will visit UofA next Saturday on their preferred walk-on day.
Werlinger said that ASU is working out the details for him to meet with head coach Todd Graham next weekend as well.
