Each week NFL Network and NFL.com Fantasy Football Editor Michael Fabiano joins Pros2Preps.com’s Brad Cesmat to share his insight on building your fantasy team for success this fall.

Here are some hilights from our most recent conversation with the Fantasy Sports Writer’s Association Hall of Famer as we enter the all-important third week of pre-season play.

What under-the-radar tight ends make sense with the position being crippled by injuries? “The tight ends that you want to be looking at, aside from the obvious guys, Jermichael Finley has started to play well. He’s in a contract year. Jordan Cameron in Cleveland. I think he’s going to be a very solid sleeper this year. You’re also looking at Jared Cook in St. Louis. He’s gotten a lot of positive press in training camp. Brandon Myers in New York. Eli Manning loves to throw to his tight ends.”

Don’t trust Notre Dame players: “It’s just a funny trend…I love these funny trends…if you look at the history, the most recent history. Probably the last 20-30 years of offensive skill position players were drafted out of Notre Dame there really aren’t too many guys who had good careers. Really good statistical careers. The last guy I can think of is Jerome Bettis. Jerome Bettis or Ricky Watters. That’s the one thing that worries me a little bit about Michael Floyd is that trend but everything else is there for him to be a good player.”

What players do you need to keep a close eye on leading up to your draft?  “Cameron Thompson in New England. Zach Sudfeld in New England. Jared Cook. Now we’re looking at Eddie Lacy. Eddie Lacy’s looked extremely good in pre-season and in training camp. Chris Givens in St. Louis. He’s starting to make a little bit of a name for himself. These are guys you want to target late. Somewhere after the 10th, 11th, 12th-round.”
