UofA has Ka’Deem on the field for Spring ball

Three Dot Thoughts…

Saturday, the Wildcats opened spring football workouts and Ka’deem Carey was part of the drills. This comes on the heels of a dispute with a female student that is still under investigation and Carey being belligerent to a campus police officer(“don’t you know who I am” never plays well with police).Does Carey have his head screwed on straight? He has a ton to prove and even more to lose if he can’t get his act together…

Rich Rodriguez isn’t going to have an answer at quarterback during the spring. Jesse Scroggins had a bunion removed from his foot and incoming Freshman Anu Solomon from Bishop Gorman won’t be on campus till June 1st. That means B.J. Denker has the opportunity to show his stuff.

The Wildcat football team will scrimmage in the Valley later this month on the 29th at Phoenix College…

Arizona State AD Steve Patterson feels like all the pieces to win big are in place at Arizona State. His quote from last spring still rings with me “if you can’t figure out how to come here and be successful. It’s not ASU’s fault. It’s the person that’s coaching”.

So let’s look at the basketball program coming into the final week of the regular season.

Herb Sendek has won twenty games, he has one of the top players in the nation in Jahii Carson, he has a practice facility that is second to none. On the negative side,

It will take something short of a miracle for his team to make the NCAA Tourney(the measuring stick to most programs for success). When you lose five of seven down the stretch people are going to grumble and complain. The lack of quality non-conference games continues to be an issue(it has been since the Frieder era).

Regardless of what the contract reads, there is going to be debate about whether he should be brought back for another season if they don’t make the tourney. Patterson’s quote says all you need to know about the attitude from the AD that didn’t hire Sendek…
