Arizona’s all-time leading rusher looks to add to title in championship game

While a lot of the attention the last few years have been the the running abilities of players like D.J. Foster at Saguaro or K’Deem Carey formally of Canyon Del Oro, few have paid attention to Northwest Christian’s Casey Jahn.

Jahn back on October 7th, Jahn set the all-time rushing in the state of Arizona in a game where he rushed for 197 yards on 21 carries against Arizona Lutheran.

Jahn passed Dwayne Thomas of Tombstone who set the record in 2005 finishing his career with 6,506 yards over his career.  Going into Jahn’s final game of his High School career, has a grand total of 7,338 rushing yards.

When asked how it felt being the state’s all-time leading rusher, Jahn told pros2preps.com, “its a great accomplishment that our team has, it is a team effort with the lineman and fullbacks and everything.  And it’s a great record for us to hold.”

Now Jahn and his fellow Crusaders are very proud of the record, but repeating as State Champions is what is in the forefront.

“The state championship is the most important thing with these guys.” Jahn told pros2preps.com.  “We are really fighting hard for this, it’s what we wanted all season to repeat.”

The Northwest Christian Crusaders look to win their second straight state title this Saturday.  They face a team who played them the closest all year back on week one of this season in Yuma Catholic.  Kick-off is Saturday at 11:30am from the Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff.
