Goldschmidt named NL Player of the Week

Diamondbacks’ first baseman Paul Goldschmidt was named National League Player of the Week on Monday, the second time he has won the honor in his career.

Goldschmidt had 16 hits, six of which were doubles, one triple and four home runs in the last week, with 11 RBIs. His slash line was .640/.690/1.440.

Goldschmidt’s offensive numbers exploded in Colorado where he helped to lead the D-backs’ to a sweep of the Rockies.

This is the third time this season a Diamondbacks’ player has won the award. Patrick Corbin was honored on April 23 and AJ Pollock on May 7.
