Hoop Talk!
Alex Barcello(Corona Del Sol) is off to a quick college start for head coach Sean Miller and the Arizona Wildcats. “He works his butt off… He’s tough. He reminds me a lot of @TJMcConnell and he’s a great shooter. I’ve been really impressed with him. He handles his business, and he is a pleasure to have in our program.” – Coach Miller on @AlexBarcello23 #APlayersProgram pic.twitter.com/yl8nLoThPn — Arizona Basketball (@APlayersProgram) November 13, 2017
The Hoop Hall West event next month features a pretty good local angle. Dennis Latimore, who
played his sophomore year of high school ball at Mesa Mountain View, is now the head coach of Chino Hills. When Latimore took over earlier this year, Lavar Ball(you may have heard of him) pulled his son LaMelo out of school after Latimore refused to add four players that Ball wanted in the program(you can’t make this stuff up) Latimore led Mesa to the Class 5A state championship and was a third-team all-state selection who played basketball at Arizona and Notre Dame. Some great teams coming into the Valley for this event. Here’s the schedule of games at Chaparral high school.

Pinnacle soph. guard Nico Mannion, considered one of top high school players in the nation, opens his season up against Chandler high school in the “Welcome to the Jungle” event at Gilbert high school next Tuesday. Mannion has been getting plenty of national attention and praise even though he’s not even halfway through high school. Here’s the schedule of games for next week.
