The winning streak came to an end, the team blew a big lead in Saturday nights game, and Paul Goldschmidt put another candle on the cake. The only bit of good news coming off dropping 2 of 3 to San Diego was the regular season is three days closer to being over.
Coming into Mondays crucial four game series with Colorado, the Diamondbacks hold a five game lead over the Rockies in the Wild Card chase. Not much reason to dwell on what went right and what didn’t with San Diego.
Zach Greinke will pitch Monday nights game. This could be a preview of the NL Wildcard game. Greinke has faced the Rockies four times this season with an ERA of 3.52.He has struck out 31 Colorado batters in 27 innings but has allowed 6 home runs to Rockie hitters.
It will be interesting to see how the Diamondbacks ace goes about his business against a team that he could be facing in a one game playoff three weeks from now.
