Player of the Week

* Saguaro QB Max Massingale showed out on the biggest stage. A game featured on ESPN against highly rated Valor Christian, Massingale went 10/11 passing for 159 yards and 2 TDs. He added 178 yards and 2 TDs on the ground.

Coach of the Week

* Ty Wisedom from Horizon led the Huskies to a big time win over in-town rival Chaparral.

Team of the Week

* Have to go with Saguaro. The Sabercats have played two tough out of state opponents in the first two weeks and come away victorious.

QBs

* Mt. Pointe’s Noah Grover had 276 yards and 4 scores in a win over Upland.

* Chandler’s Jacob Conover had a big game in a loss to Corona Centennial. He threw for 479 yards and 3 TDs.

* Austin Nuessle from Desert Mountain threw for 435 yards and 5 TDs in a loss to Carson.

* Coronado’s Jay Vanderjagt threw for 349 yards and 6 scores against Flagstaff.

* Spencer Rattler from Pinnacle threw for 309 yards and 3 scores and added a 4th TD on the ground against Basha.

* ASU commit Ryan Kelley from Basha threw for 310 yards and 2 TDs and rushed for a 3rd against Pinnacle.

* San Tan Foothills’ Danny Herrera threw for 506 yards and 6 TDs versus Many Farms.

* Mahal Lee from Cactus makes the list for the first time. He threw for 204 yards and 3 TDs against Bradshaw Mountain and rushed for another 71 yards and a score.

* Bradshaw Mountain senior Gunner Bundrick had 388 yards and 7 TD passes in a loss to Cactus and added 181 yards rushing.

* North Canyon’s Trevor Leinstock threw for 309 yards and 3 TDs.

* Higley’s Mason Crossland threw for 401 yards and 5 TDs versus Mingus.

* Chase Cord from Sunrise Mountain threw 5 TD passes against Buckeye.

* Tehran Thomas from Desert Edge had 336 total yards and 6 TDs versus Notre Dae.

* Naz Greer from Marcos de Niza had 3 TDs against Prescott.

* Skyline’s T.J. Duarte scored 3 times versus Highland.

* Casteel’s Gunner Cruz threw for 256 yards and 3 TDs versus Payson.

* Cienega’s Jamaye Joiner totaled 322 yards and 4 scores against Marana.

RBs

* Saguaro’s Stone Matthews rushed for 144 yards and 3 scores against Valor Christian.

* Chandler’s T.J. Green scored 4 times against Corona Centennial.

* Damaria Norris from Cactus rushed for 263 yards and 3 TDs versus Bradshaw and added a 4th TD receiving.

* Draycen Hall from Higley had 510 all-purpose yards, including 344 rushing against Mingus.

* Hamilton’s Jawhar Jordan ran for 144 yards and 4 TDs versus Queen Creek.

* Salpointe’s Mario Padilla ran for 178 yards and 3 TDs in a win over Marana Mt. View.

* Pinnacle’s Hunter Griggs ran for 179 yards and 3 TDs versus Basha.

* Queen Creek’s Jace Koester ran for 202 yards against Hamilton.

* Verrado’s JaTai Jenkins scored 3 times versus Arcadia.

* Jared Beamon from Paradise Valley caught 14 passes for 300 yards and 3 TDs against Maricopa.

Receivers

* Chandler junior Gunner Romney caught 5 passes for 239 yards and 2 scores against Corona Centennial.

* Desert Mountain senior Kade Warner caught 14 passes for 164 yards and 3 TDs against Carson.

* Coronado’s Robert Williams caught 12 passes for 169 yards and 2 TDs versus Flagstaff. He also returned a KO for a score.

* Cactus senior Matt Eberhardt caught 3 passes for 141 yards and 2 TDs against Bradshaw and added a rushing TD.

* Breakout game for North Canyon junior Solomon Enis. He caught 6 passes for 224 yards and 2 TDs and had an 80 yard KO TD.

* Cooper Jones from Higley caught 8 passes for 184 yards and 2 TDs while Chris Crescione caught 8 for 137 yards and 2 TDs.

* Mt.View’s Curtis Hodges had 7 catches for 158 yards and 2 TDs against Valley Vista.

Defense/Special Teams/Misc.

* Fairfax returner Shamar Moreland returned 2 punts for scores against Central.

* Desert Edge DE Dante Blissit had 14 total tackles, 4 sacks and 5 TFLs versus Notre Dame.

* Centennial DE Andrew Nichols had 8 tackles and 3 sacks against Apollo.
