The defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors handed the Phoenix Suns their ninth-straight loss Wednesday 112-104 but all the buzz was what happened on the Phoenix bench in the first quarter timeout when embattled forward Markieff Morris and guard Archie Goodwin had to be separated by players and assistant coaches. Off the court the two are not just teammates, but close friends.

“This team has a lot of passion,” interim coach Earl Watson said after the game. “We want to fight and they want to win. We expect everyone to play their hardest and we expect everyone to be accountable for how they play…we have to learn how to control our emotions. The team is not split. Those are two are the closest on the team. They have a bond.”

The Suns’ 14-40 record is the second-worst in the Western Conference.
