Every week, Scout.com and Sports360az.com recruiting insider Jason Jewell takes us around the state and spotlights the best performances every week during the high school football season. Here are the stars from week 4 of the 2013 season.

Player of the Week

It’s not often that an all-time record is broken so this week we are going to honor Scottsdale Prep WR Matt Munsil. Munsil broke the all-time TD record, surpassing the old mark of 74. He had 132 yards and 3 TDs on Friday.

QBs

*Horizon’s Dalton Sneed makes the list again after throwing for 373 yards and 4 TDs against North Canyon.

*Gilbert Christian’s Bailey Anderson threw 10 TDs against Mesa Prep.

*Higley’s Tyler Bloomthrew for 315 yards and 5 TDs against AJ. TE Nick Colson and WR Kole Hunter each went over 100 yards and had 2 TDs each.

*Josh Eckley is back to his old self. The Marcos QB threw for 263 yards and 5 TDs while rushing for 82 yards and 1 score against Poston Butte.

*Luke Rubenzer from Saguaro threw for 261 yards and rushed for 105 in a win over Williams Field.

*Basha’s Zach Werlinger threw for 304 yards and 2 TDs and rushed for 2 more scores in a close loss to Hamilton.

*PV’s Daniel Bridge-Gadd threw 4 TDs.

*Tucson High’s Donovan Moore passed for 134 yards and rushed for 192 in a huge win over Ironwood Ridge.

*Marana Mt. View’s Cody Rochon threw 3 TDs and ran for 2 more.

*In a shootout, Liberty’s Tyler Wyatt threw for 396 yards and had 4 total TDs while also kicking a FG. Deer Valley’s Devon Palomino had 409 yards and 2 TDs.

*Gabe Losada from St. Mary’s threw for 526 yards and 9 TDs.

*Peoria’s Anthony Guevera had 273 yards and 5 TDs against Dysart.

*Freshman Chase Cord from Sunrise Mountain had 203 yards and 4 TDs against Goldwater.

*Anthony Hernandez from Desert Edge threw for 369 yards and 4 TDs.

RBs

*Desert Mountain junior Deion Warren accounted for over 200 yads of offense, scored 4 TDs, had 2 sacks on defense as well as a forced fumble.

*Luke Quinn from Horizon had 7 carries for 102 yards, 6 catches for 103 yards and 5 total TDs against North Canyon.

*Shadow Ridge’s Chris Salsberry had 3 rushing TDs and threw another in a win against Agua Fria.

*Queen Creek’s Cullen Castello had 3 TDs against South.

*Mt. Pointe’s Wesley Payne came back strong from injury, rushing for 206 yards against Brophy.

*Williams Field RB Jacob Anderson had 213 yards and 2 TDs against Saguaro.

*Sage Waxter from San Tan Foothills rushed for 3212 yards and 5 TDs against Santa Cruz.

*Mesquite’s Paul Perry had 195 yards and 2 TDs against Cactus.

*Paradise Valley’s Max Van Kempen had 213 yards against Kingman.

*Amphi’s Dante Anderson rushed for 160 yards and 1 TD and caught 4 passes for 77 yards and 2 scores against Sahuarita.

*Ty Cruz from Catalina Foothills had 167 yards and 4 TDs.

Receivers

*Cole Sterns from Sahuaro had 140 yards and 2 TDs and returned an INT for a score as well.

*Kaelin Deboskie had 2 receiving TDs, a punt return TD and an INT return for a TD.

*Sabino TE Matt Bushman had 3 receiving TDs.

*Peoria’s Darius Aguirre had 210 yards and 4 TDs.

*C.J. Heard from Desert Edge caught 6 passes for 14 yards and 3 TDs.

Special Teams/Defense/Misc.

*Hamilton DE Qualen Cunningham had 5 sacks against Basha.

*The Valley Christian defense had 4 INts, forced 3 fumbles and blocked a punt Friday.

*Notre Dame safety Jordan Schleuter had 2 INts versus Cactus Shadows.

*I am going to give props to the big boys up front in several games. The Centennial OL paved the way for 351 rushing yards against Desert Vista. Chandler’s OL paved the way for 422 yards and 9 TDs against Gilbert. Not to be outdone, Tempe Prep
